Former Watford manager and Leeds coach Aidy Boothroyd has been installed as favourite to succeed him.

Sky Bet have suspended betting on Boothroyd after he was backed at all prices down to 1/4, having opened at 8/1.

Sky Bet's Helen Jacob said: "After taking just a handful of bets on the other candidates and racking up a four-figure liability on Boothroyd, we have suspended betting for the time-being pending further developments."

The 6/1 second favourite to take the reins is John Ward, who was axed as Carlisle manager on Monday.

Ex Burnley boss, Steve Cotterill, is quoted at 9/1, with Huddersfield veteran and current assistant manager of Morecambe, Mark Lillis, available at 14/1.
