The Latics tried a new 3-5-2 formation at Bournemouth and Ronnie Moore was pleased with the way his players performed. Moore may stick with the same formation on Wednesday when Nottingham Forest visit Boundary Park.

Moore said, "We can't be on top all the time away from home but we made Bournemouth change the way they were playing. They had to change the shape of the side to try to stop us getting forward as much as we were. Basically, we were dictated to play that way because of the players we had available. But we had worked all week on it and I was satisfied that it worked reasonably well for us. It was a pity we just couldn't nick a goal. It is nice when you get a bit of debate between them (the players). It shows there is a little bit of feeling. But playing a new system must have worked because we were causing them problems."
