Lyden ready for action

Jordan Lyden, on loan from Aston Villa, is looking forward to action after missing all September with injury. He made his debut in the 4-1 win at Bradford in the ‘Mickey Mouse Cup’ which furthers Premier League youth teams.

He commented, “It was disappointing to pick up that injury, it was my second training session so it was unfortunate especially since I thought I was doing well. I'm fully recovered, so hopefully I can get past all these injuries now, push on and get some games under my belt. I was nervous to start with because it was my first loan spell away from Aston Villa, but there's a great bunch of lads here and the first thing I noticed was the positivity around the place. It's a family club which you couldn't ask for more, so they've welcomed me really well, I've settled in and I'm happy just to be playing my football again.”

“It's been really good working with the gaffer, he's similar to the old manager at Villa, Steve Bruce and the U23 manager Kevin McDonald, he's quite old school and you know what you get from him. He gets stuck in at training which is what the players need, I feel you can't always give them a pat on the shoulder, but when they do need it he knows when to do it.”
