Latics goal hero Gary McDonald paid tribute to Athletic's travelling supporters after the dramatic win at Everton. He said, "Some of the goals we've scored recently have been unbelievable, but even if it goes in off someone's backside and we win 1-0 it makes absolutely no difference. The ball sat up nicely for me for the goal, and I thought to myself I would have a hit and try and get it on target. The feeling when it hit the back of the net was unbelievable. I've been getting some stick from the lads for my celebration, apparently it's the fastest I've moved all season! But I just wanted to celebrate with our fans because 5,500 of them were there giving it their all and they were our twelfth man today. We looked a threat going forward and defended well as a team to hang on 1-0, we're all chuffed.
