Latics boss Ronie Moore is delighted that his team are slowly cutting back the lead on the play-off teams. After the emphatic win over Blackpool he told the official site, "We keep whipping the horse without going past anybody. But we have closed the gap and the sides at the top are looking over their shoulders. Not long ago we were 14 points below Barnsley, now we are level with them. We have had it all to do and still have, but we are putting pressure on the sides in the promotion places. We were the better side from start to finish. We knocked it about well at times and overall you have to be pleased. If we had only played half as well at Rotherham we would probably have been in second spot, that's how daft it is. Now we can kick on."

"It is all still in our hands and we have to keep winning games. We still have Barnsley and Swansea to play at Boundary Park and it looks like we will have a big say in the top and the bottom. Hartlepool, who we play next are down there, and it will be a difficult game on a Friday night. But we will take it from there. We have lifted everybody with a decent end to the season and it puts a bit of pressure on the manager. Can we go on and just get over that winning line? Hopefully, we just keep playing and enjoying it and if it is going to happen it will."
