Athletic officials have finally submitted the plans for their new stadium development to Oldham Council. The plans include a detailed plan for the new Main Stand, plus outline permission for the other two stands. The Main Stand will have an all seated capacity of 5,200, and will include hospitality and banqueting areas, executive boxes and lettable office space.

New changing rooms, a new shop and office suites for club use will also form part of the application. The Chadderton Road end will include a 120 bed, four-star hotel facility plus residential developments on the surrounding land. It is hoped that the application will be accepeted and approved before the end of June.

Latics Director Ian Hill (pictured) told the official website, "I'm delighted that the day we submit the planning application has finally arrived. It's been a long, hard slog to get where we are now, and I hope the town embrace what we are trying to do and give us their support."

Alan Hardy added, "What we are seeing now is the culmination of twelve months' hard work, and now we're taking the next step on the road to the development. This is a major milestone in the history of Oldham Athletic. We will be contacting supporters at the next home match to tell them about exact ticket arrangements for next season, and the club is expecting to sell season tickets in the New Start Mortgages Stand for the beginning of next season and then offer supporters the chance to move to an area of their choice. This will mean that season ticket holders are only inconvenienced for part of a season rather than an entire campaign."
