John Sheridan is close to settling a deal with a midfielder with Championship experience. The player would be his third signing as he builds his team for next seasons assault on promotion. Shez confessed that he is “90-per-cent certain” of clinching the deal. He said, “It might be a case of shaking on it rather than signing a contract because there are still one or two things to iron out. But he's 90-per-cent certain to come here and, hopefully, we'll have it sorted over the weekend. It's an important signing because he's someone who knows this level and will be coming as a first choice. I know which areas of the squad need to be strengthened, and we could do with some balance among the midfield players.”
