Athletic obviously see youth as the future as they signed up another youngster yesterday in Kirk Millar. Millar is the third scholar this week to sign professional forms and the 17-year-old is only just completing the first year of his two-year scholarship.
He is a midfielder who has shown much promise and he has been on the fringe of the first-team squad for the last couple of months. Millar signed from Irish club Linfield where he played reserve team football at the age of 15 and he also featured in one first-team match at the tender age of 16.
