Transfer listed Matty Appleby (pictured) is attracting interest from a League Two club and could finally be on his way out of Boundary Park. Appleby has had an injury prone last two seasons although he is now back in full training. He has played only three first team games since September 2002. He a high earner and is under contract to the end of next season but should soon be testing his recovery in the upcoming friendly games.

Simon Corney said, “There is some interest in Matty and we are currently discussing his future. He’s under contract and it would be great if he was a big part of our team next season so there’s still some talking to do.”

Michael Clegg and Dave Beharall, another two big earners from the Moore era, are also tranfer listed and the Latics are hoping to off-load all three players to help reduce the wage bill.
