Appleby trains at Darlington

Injury prone Matty Appleby is training with his former club Darlington after having failed to play a single game for the Latics all last season. Appleby still has a year to run on his contract but is one of the players that manager Brian Talbot would like to offload as he is a high earner. Matty played more than 100 games for the Quakers in nearly three seasons with the club before moving on to Barnsley for a £200,000 fee where he became a member of the team that won promotion to the Premiership in 1997.
