Athletic win but they also lose

Athletic appealed to the Football Association over the dismissal of Julien Baudet in the match against Wycombe Wanderers. After a review the FA decided that the referee had got it wrong as Julien did not make a dangerous two footed tackle. The hard part to swallow though is that despite the findings, the F.A. have refused to overturn the red card which means a five match suspension will follow.

A very annoyed Alan Hardy said, β€œIt's very frustrating, it seems there are different rules for Premier League clubs and Football League clubs, when Premier League clubs appeal, the decision is often overturned yet as this case shows even when we have appealed and the F.A. admit the referee got it wrong we still can't get the decision reversed and losing Julien at this time is a massive blow.”
