The Latics have arranged another friendly game for pre-season and will face opposition from Melbourne Heart of the Australian A-League. The Heart share a link with Premier League champions Manchester City after being taken over by the club. Harry Kewell was captain of the Heart last season and they are hoping to sign Fulham winger Damien Duff after the World Cup.
The new Abu Dhabi-based owners also own New York City FC and the club will likely follow the requests of the owners and change their name change to Melbourne City. Melbourne visit Boundary Park on 19th July.
