Away kit decision deferred

The launch of the Latics away kit for next season has been halted due to the uncertaincy of club sponsorship for the 2003-04 season. A new north west business has the potential to sponsor the home and away shirts and they are willing to pay £250,000 over the next two years. This deal could take over from the Torex Foundation. Torex offered a deal which includes sponsorship for both the home and away kits.

Sean Jarvis commented, “Negotiations have been going on for about a month now. As is often the case with sponsorship deals, it's now a case of dotting the I's and crossing the T's. A meeting is planned with top level representatives of the potential sponsor with the aim of finalising the deal which will be worth around a quarter of a million pounds. Whilst the deal represents a major boost for the club, I would urge supporters to continue to assist us with our other revenue streams including merchandising, the season ticket offer and the Latics Starline lottery. If the sponsorship goes through, Torex funding is set to continue with it’s focus on the Centre of Excellence.

Torex, who already support us through a lot of advertising, will also have some
input into youth development.”
