Assistant manager Ian Baraclough will leave the Latics to take up the post of manager of Northern Ireland's under-21s side. He will replace Jim Magilton, in favour of former Athletic striker Warren Feeney and ex-manager Darren Kelly. Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill watched the Latics 1-1 draw over Rochdale which ensured League One football at Boundary Park next season.

Rumours suggest that Peter Shirtliff could return in his former role of assistant manager. He is currently working as a technical observer for the Premier League. Former fitness coach John Harbin could also return. Harbin is now 70-year-old and worked alongside former manager Iain Dowie.
