Baudet to be left out!

Julien Baudet, goalscorer at Barnsley, could be left out of the Worthington Cup tie at Crystal Palace. It looks like David Eyres will win his place back after missing the Barnsley game through suspension. The goal was Baudet’s first of the season and only his second ever for Athletic. Although Baudet (pictured) put in a good midfield performance it looks like Eyres will return at left wing-back which will allow Chris Armstrong to continue his recent good form thereby relegating the big Frenchman to the subs bench.

Paul Murray was included in the squad at Barnsley but is still suffering from a sore knee and Dowie said, “Although he was on the bench, I didn’t really want to use him. The knee isn’t right and he would have only played in an emergency.” Athletic are now just three games from a Worthington Cup final appearance in Cardiff.
