Latics defender Dave Beharall (pictured) has joined Marc Tierney at Carlisle on an 18 month deal. Beharall recently agreed to settle his contract with Athletic and he goes straight into their squad for the FA Trophy clash with Barnet. Beharall was signed by former boss Mick Wadsworth from Newcastle United for a fee of £150,000 and, after playing over 70 first team games, fell out of favour at Boundary Park.

Marc Tierney will stay at Brunton Park for a third month on loan and he told the Oldham Chronicle, “I'm enjoying myself there. Even though it's a Conference club I'm still finding the games much more physical than reserve games here. I think that it's good for my development.”
