Goalkeeper Mark Crossley (pictured) was due to sit on the bench on Saturday for the first round FA Cup tie at home to Doncaster but he was forced into action when Marlon Beresford was injured during the game warm up. Beresford has a torn hamstring and has now ended his loan spell so the Latics may need to sign a new goalkeeper before Saturdays visit of Port Vale.
