Defender Ryan Bertrand is in trouble with the FA after being sent home from the England under 19 International side who are trying to qualify for the European Championships. Bertrand, 18, broke a curfew and while head coach Brian Eastick stressed there was no other misdemeanour, the player was still asked to return to Boundary Park. The on loan player was sent home with Chelsea team mate Scott Sinclair and Newcastle United's Andy Carroll.

Eastick said, "I found it necessary to send the three players home for breaking our code of conduct. All the appropriate people have been informed and there will be no further comment at this time."
