Young left back Paul Black has been given a professional contract at Boundary Park. After some impressive reserve matches he has been training with the first team since December.

Black commented, "It's my eighteenth birthday this Friday (today) so this is an ideal birthday present. I'm delighted. It's every kid's dream to be a professional footballer, and I'm a local lad who is delighted to sign for Oldham Athletic. I'm looking forward to the challenge. I'm happy to be involved and I'm hoping I can do well in training and prove I'm capable of making my debut. Every day training with the first team is helping me, and I've learnt a lot from John Sheridan and his staff. Now I want to take the next step and move on."
