Black out for some time

Unlucky Paul Black sustained an horrific hamstring injury in the in defeat at Franchise FC. The poor youngster had to be stretchered off in the first half of the game and the manager said it is too early to comment on the extent of the damage which will have to be scanned although it appears that the injury will keep the full back out for some time.

Franchise winger Daniel Powell should be applauded for his exceptional sporting gesture which followed the collapse of Black. Having beaten Black on the right wing, Powell was clean through on goal but, realising the severity of the injury, he unselfishly kicked the ball out of play to allow treatment to commence on the Latics player. It is heart-warming to witness such a sporting action when the majority of players today are selfish and seem to be trained to cheat on their fellow professionals rather than respect them. Good luck to Powell in his future career.
