Blitz explains

Simon Blitz told the official site about the temporary changes in duties at the club and issued the following statement:

“I, Simon (Blitz) will be taking over from the other Simon (Corney) for the next few months while he does some real work for a change. It's probably not a bad thing that he's gone because when Danny and I left him to do things his way we nearly ended up relegated.

I continue to be as excited about our club as I was the first day we took over. Yes there have been some stressful moments but on the whole it has been great fun and a real learning curve. We seem to have the infrastructure in place to take the club forward and in Ronnie and John a management pair who the players want to play for. We have supported them as best as we can and it looks like they have put together a very exciting squad. No pressure Ronnie but anything less than top six!

There has been a great deal happening in the Transfer market and we are not finished yet. Unfortunately a few of our original targets have not quite come off, and this has been due to a combination of ludicrous wage demands, high transfer fees or the most common cause, agents acting like idiots. However, we have always stated that as much as we want to put out a winning team, we will not mortgage the club to do it.

If over the next few days and weeks you feel disappointed that certain players who you believe would be an asset to our team do not in fact sign for us, don't be. We have two or three options for every position we are looking at and trust me we will have a competitive team for the start of the season.

I would like to thank all those fans who have purchased season tickets and helped us put this squad together. I also understand that there are some fans out there who are unable to afford the cost of a season ticket and I hope they will still be able to attend as many games as possible. We really thought long and hard about the pricing structure for this year and it was not easy trying to find that fine line between putting up the cost of entry and putting out a team that we can be proud of. I truly hope you get value for your money this year because you deserve it.

As always please keep your comments and suggestions coming, we try our best to pay attention to your requests although it is not always possible.

I will be in touch soon"
