The performance of the team and manager David Dunn were discussed at a board meeting, for which owner Simon Corney specially flew in to attend. With the Latics sitting uncomfortably in the relegation spots, and five points from safety, it leaves them in a precarious position. Poor league form has seen gates plummet and the manager’s position is under becoming increasingly under pressure.
Dunn still believes he can turn the team around and Corney would be reluctant to be in a position to appoint a fifth manager in such quick succession.
