Bolton Wanderers young striker Conor Wilkinson has joined Athletic on a one-month youth loan. Wilkinson played and scored against the Latics in the Manchester Senior Cup game and has represented the Republic of Ireland at under 17s, 19s and 21s level.
Manager Lee Johnson spoke about him, "He is a player we have tracked for a while now. We watched him progress through the ranks at Bolton and we look forward to bringing him into the squad. He played against us the other day and looked good so it will be interesting to see if he can fulfill his full potential with a League One side. He is physically strong and a good finisher. He will complement all that we have got at the moment and that can only help the squad. We want to thank Bolton for lending us the player and we are coming up to a period of games where we need all the bodies we can get."
