Bonner hits another setback

Mark Bonner is going to be out of action for around another three months after the surgery on his broken arm went wrong. With six pins inserted and a plate he has needed a bone graft from his hip. Bonner was injured in a freak accident at Port Vale seven weeks ago and he has only made five starts this season.

Manager Ronnie Moore said, “You’ve got to feel sorry for Mark because he seems to have no luck whatsoever. We’re now going to be very short of cover unless I can bring someone in, so that’s what I’ll be looking at this week. It’s going to be difficult because you find clubs are only willing to let people out on loan for the experience. I don’t want to use up a loan signing for somebody else’s young lads. I’d rather blood our own kids like Jason Taylor.”
