Boss fuming after abysmal performance

Athletic's abysmal performance against the McDongles Franchise on Saturday left Latics boss Ronnie Moore fuming. Instead of hitting 4th. spot like they should have done, they dropped back to 7th. and allowed Nottingham Forest to get within sniffing distance of the play-offs.

Moore said, "There isn't one player who can hold his head up, it was schoolboy stuff. They get well paid but where was the effort, the enthusiasm? You would never dream that we re in position in the table after a performance like that. It was far from good enough and I just wonder at times what turns them on. They know what the prize is yet not one of them earned their corn. You just cannot carry as many players as we did and expect to win a game. I don't ever want to see another performance like that. We huffed and puffed but never blew anybody down and it was totally unacceptable. I can only apologise to the fans. If I had paid to watch that I would have given them a lot worse than they got when they came off at the end."

The sad part is, how many times have we heard this, and when will it sink in?
