Latics injured striker Ryan Brooke is accepting that he may be out of action for some time after damaging his ankle ligaments when he scored the winning goal in the final pre-season friendly against Preston North End.
Poor Brooke had to watch the Tranmere Rovers game from the sideline on crutches as his right foot is in a protective boot. He admitted, "I am really tired as I have hardly slept since the injury because of the throbbing pain.”
