Frankie Bunn was pleased with the Latics 3-1 victory at Ashton United on Tuesday. Goals from Peter Clarke, Jonathan Benteke and Jose Baxter was enough to ensure his first win.
Bunn declared, “I thought the lads did what they had to do. It was just a fitness exercise, the first game, and we’re trying to implement our ideas. That’s what we’re going to work through for the whole pre-season. Change is sometimes difficult to implement, but I think we showed some good characteristics. It was our first step towards what we’re trying to achieve, and it’s a step in the right direction.”
