Carling Cup first round drawn

Athletic have drawn Stoke City in the first round of the Carling Cup. The game will take place at Boundary Park on Tuesday, August 24th. and will bring memories of some epic cup matches in the past. Former player Clint Hill may take part in the game although he has been suffering from injury of late.

Alan Hardy said, “It is an attractive game, but will be difficult as we are playing a club from a higher division.”
