The Latics will play Carlisle United in the first round, north section, of the League Cup. The match will be at Boundary Park on 5th September but will be staged behind closed doors.
Changes to the rules see the two legged semi-finals being replaced by a single tie and the first four rounds. Premier League sides will enter the competition in the second or third rounds.
