Former Latics favourite Tony Carss has been released by Huddersfield Town. The popular midfielder has been sidelined since last December with a knee injury and it seems that he would be too much of a risk if he returned to Boundary Park.Athletic cannot afford to have any more players who are struggling with fitness and Ronnie Moore has ruled out any chance of a return to Oldham.
