Anthony Grant has signed a one month loan arrangement with Athletic with the possibility of an extension should the deal work out well for both teams. Premiership champions Chelsea agreed to let the 18-year-old midfielder sign the deal. Grant made his Premiership debut against Manchester United at Old Trafford last season in front of 67,000 spectators when Chelsea ran out 1-3 winners and is looking forward to playing regular first-team football. He made an impressive debut for the Latics in the 3-0 loss at Nottingham Forest yesterday.Grant (nicknamed Judge) was born 4/6/87 in Lambeth, London and has been with Chelsea since the age of nine. He played in the youth team at right-back but later established himself as a holding midfielder in the reserve side and has this season become an England U19 international.
5'-11" and 11st. 3lbs. Grant said, "I am looking forward to first team football and I am delighted to be at Oldham. There is a possibility that the deal could be extended and I would love to go to the Millennium Stadium in the play-offs. I have come here to improve my all-round game and become a better player. The experience will be good for me and, hopefully, for Oldham."
