Former Latics defender Simon Charlton is hanging up his boots after almost 600 senior games. The 35 year old now lives in Norfolk and is taking a youth coaching post at Norwich City. Charlton played a total of 39 games with the Latics last season but began his career with Huddersfield Town in 1989 where he made 157 appearances before moving to Southampton, spending five years in the top flight of football.
