Charlton out

Simon Charlton is facing the prospect of missing several games in Athletic's final run in to the end of the season. He had to leave the field in the 2-2 draw at Leyton Orient on Saturday following a last minute challenge which damaged his ankle. After the match the Latics Physio, Lee Nobes said, "We're not sure how bad the damage is as yet. It looks like a twist and it's pretty sore at the minute, but we'll just have to wait and see."

Since then it has been ruled that Charlton could be out for three to four weeks. The news could mean a break for Paul Edwards who has been appearing at left back rather than in his usual position on the wing. Another option for John Sheridan would be to bring in Kelvin Lomax.
