Chris Porter compensation decision due soon

Athletic are near to knowing their fate over the compensation package that they have to pay neighbours Bury for 21 year old striker Chris Porter.

The clubs failed to agree a fee when the youngster was signed last summer and a Football League Appeals Committee will meet at Manchester to determine the fee. Judge R Reid QC will head the panel which will also contain Terry Dolan, John Bramhall, Mick McGuire and David Dent.

It is thought that Bury are asking for a six figure fee but Barry Chaytow, Alan Hardy and Ronnie Moore will be representing Athletic's side of the argument.
