Clark hopes for more

After the 1-0 success at Athletic, Huddersfield manager Lee Clark commented to the official Terriers website, "I have just told the players that if we have any aspirations of being one of the three teams who get promoted out of this League, we have to come here and get this type of result. We have made a big thing about improving our away form, so to come and keep a clean sheet and win it with such a fantastic strike in front of a fantastic following makes it a perfect away day. We did everything you need to when you come away from home; we were resolute, strong, aggressive and we certainly played to the conditions. We tried to pass it at times, but in the gale-force winds and torrential rains we had to do different things at times."

"With a little bit more luck it could have been more; Jordan hit the crossbar and had another go inches wide. I think we deserved the win. The lads had the incentive of getting into the top six and getting within five points of second place and they stood up to be counted today. Jordan took a couple of whacks on the ankle but when you are as committed as he is centre-halves want to kick you, because they know you are important. I always tell my strikers that they have to prepare to get hurt, because if you are brave enough you will get your rewards - he certainly is and another day he could have had two goals because of his movement in the penalty area. They had a dominant force in the air in Sean Gregan, so we had to try and do something a little bit different from our set-pieces. We spoke about it at half-time - we had to get him out of important areas. Robbie, as we all know, has a sweet left foot and he couldn't have struck that any better."

"We're delighted - we are in there and now we hope we can stay there for the duration. The only way we can do that is to combine home wins with away wins and today we have done that. I would stress that nothing has been achieved yet though - we need to continue to be resolute at the back. With the quality we have in the forward areas, we will always create opportunities."
