The Latics lost their final pre-season friendly at Crewe Alexandra by a 4-1 scoreline. The only Latics goal came from Paul Warne. Not the best of pre-season build ups but Ronnie Moore has virtually a new team and he must still gel them into a team that is challenging for promotion. The experimenting must now stop and players need to stand up and be counted.
The manager stated before the game that the team would “not be a million miles from the team” that starts against Yeovil. It's time to start worrying then! The only positive thing that can come from the build up is that past history dictates that a good pre-season usually results in a poor regular season. Ah well, it never was easy being an Oldham fan!
