Crewe could have a new striker to face Athletic

Crewe Alexandra could be pulling off a major transfer coup before travelling to Boundary Park for Saturdays encounter as they hope to pull off a one month loan deal for Bristol City striker Phil Jevons.

During the last 15 months Crewe have lost three forwards; Northern Ireland international Steve Jones to Burnley, Luke Varney to Charlton Athletic and young prospect Nicky Maynard who has a broken leg.
