Lee Croft will be allowed to stay at Boundary Park on loan for a second month. Kevin Keegan is happy to allow the youngster to stay but with one condition - that he doesn’t play against Manchester City in the third round of the FA Cup. Croft is already cup-tied as he made his debut at Thurrock in the second round but Keegan is not taking any chances in case the England Youth International helps the Latics defeat City which would obviously be embarrassing to Keegan. There is also a 24 hour recall clause written into the contract.

Manager Brian Talbot said, “Lee has performed very well in the six games he has played and hopefully he will continue to do so for the next month. Kevin Keegan has been extremely helpful but has not been able to commit himself to a longer period at the moment as he is operating with a small squad.”
