Crossley mad with officials

Goalkeeper Mark Crossley was mad and pointed the finger of blame at the match officials after they failed to give what he considered to be a late penalty in the match at Swansea. Crossley had ventured upfield in a late attempt to help score an equaliser.

He told Latics World, "Their lad pulled me back, it's as simple as that. I certainly didn't think I fouled him. With it being the last minute I thought I'd go up there and see what happened, but it wasn't to be. The defeat is obviously disappointing, but I think we've proved the point that there isn't much between the teams in this division. A draw would have been a fair result but we're disappointed with the goals we gave away. The second took a massive deflection. It was coming straight to me at first before taking a big change of direction off Reuben Hazell."

"This is a bit of blip for us, and we're disappointed because it's a long journey home. I'm also disappointed for the fans who came all this way. But we deserved something, and can take positives from the game. Games are running out and we've got to start winning, especially at home, but we're in good fettle and are doing okay. I said a few weeks ago we won't be far away at the end of the season and I still believe that."
