Goalkeeper Mark Crossley has signed a new one year deal after expressing a wish to stay at the club in a playing and coaching capacity. 38 year old Crossley has made 44 appearances since signing on a free transfer from Fulham. He is involved with the coaching set-up and will be overseeing the development of the club's young goalkeepers.

Crossley told the official Latics website, "I'm very pleased to have extended my contract, and I wouldn't have done so if I didn't want to stay. I had the opportunity to go to Norwich as goalkeeping coach, and they also approached me midway through last season. But I'm very happy at Oldham and I want to keep on playing as long as I can. I'm enjoying my football and I wanted to stay with John Sheridan. Now I'm looking forward to the summer, but we're in training next Tuesday and Wednesday so really the season ends on Thursday. Then I can rest these old bones for a while!"
