Cywka is raring to go

Three players will be vying for the opening left by the suspension of Richie Wellens on Saturday. Wigan Athletic on loan midfielder Tomasz Cywka has so far took a sideline cameo part of the action but he is now raring to go. Also into the reckoning comes midfielders Craig Rocastle and Neil Wood who are also hoping that manager John Sheridan will give them the nod.

Cywka (pictured) said, "I'm looking to show the manager I am ready to play and am trying to do so every day on the training ground. I hope I will play on Saturday. I've been playing ten to fifteen minutes at the end of games, which is good experience for me. I think I'm ready to play a full game and I'm looking forward to possibly doing so. I'm really enjoying it at Oldham. All the lads and the management are great. I had a fever and wasn't well for a week. I feel OK now though and am ready to return. I've not really thought about extending the loan. It all depends on what happens in the next couple of weeks. I don't know what's happening at the moment."

The manager has already made his decision but is revealing nothing until the last minute. Shez said, "It's one of three players for the central midfield position. One of Neil Wood, Craig Rocastle and Tomasz Cywka will start, and I've made my decision already. Whoever gets the nod will have to come in and be ready for the game. It was a very tough decision. They're three very good players and I know none of them would let me down. At the end of the day I've just got to pick the player that I think will do the best job. They're all central midfielders so it wouldn't be strange to any of them."
