Latics on loan midfielder Tomasz Cywka will be staying at Boundary Park until January 2nd. after Wigan have agreed to extend his loan deal. The 18 year old will now be available to play against Crewe, Chesterfield, Brighton, Northampton, Rotherham, Gillingham and Nottingham Forest over the hectic Christmas period. Wigan boss Paul Jewell has refused him permission to play in the FA Cup competition as he does not want him cup-tied.

Cywka has played 80 times for Poland and is the youngster ever player to represent the country at U21 level. With midfield places in high demand he has been limited to one start and three substitute appearances but he is still keen to show his worth.

Cywka told the official site, "It was my decision to stay, I'm really enjoying myself at Oldham. The training is very good, and I'm glad to be able to remain here. John Sheridan and Tommy Wright are very good to me and talk to me every day, giving me good advice. We've had some good success recently, and it's good to be part of what is a very strong side which will be fighting for promotion to the Championship."

"I've only really played for about ten to twelve minutes so far, but it's good experience at a much higher level than the Reserves. It'll prepare me better for playing at Wigan, which is a very good thing. It was a great result at Huddersfield, and I had two good chances to score. I was really close on the first opportunity. The fans were absolutely incredible and it was a great turnout."
