Following his sending off at Rochdale in the first round of the Carling Cup, Welsh international striker Craig Davies has furthered his apology by expressing his desire to play every week and better last years goal tally of 14 strikes.

Davies told the Oldham Evening Chronicle, "I'm still lacking sharpness at the moment because I've missed a few games, but the most important thing is to do well for my club. I should be feeling 100-per-cent soon - hopefully right back to the way I felt this time last year."

Davies received an automatic ban, a club fine and was subsequently removed from the Welsh international squad by John Sheridan ahead of Wales' World Cup qualifying match against Georgia.
