Davies impresses Sheridan

Manager John Sheridan was impressed with Craig Davies in the 1-0 win at Tranmere this week. He said, "Craig was excellent and it was his best performance of the season so far. He was a big threat to Tranmere and if he plays like that week in, week out, teams will be looking at him. We keep going on at him, and he probably doesn't like it, but it's important he gets into those positions inside the box where he can score goals. We're trying to tell him how to learn about the game because he's young and he hasn't played much football in his career. He hasn't done anything in the game yet and I don't want him thinking he's good, or great, or whatever else he might think, but he'll do very well if he keeps playing like that."

"Tranmere are very awkward to play against, but we created a lot of chances. As the away team we were very positive, so I'm pleased for the lads because they have been working hard. They are playing for each other, but it's only one game and nobody should get carried away about winning at Tranmere. We've got to do this consistently because we are still in a dogfight near the bottom and we need to get out of it."
