Davies says sorry

Craig Davies has publicly apologised to Latics' supporters following the red card that he picked up at Rochdale. He has already received a three-match ban, been fined by the club and has missed an international call-up because of the indiscretion.

He told Latics World, "As soon as I got the dressing room after being sent off I realised I had let the team down. Then I was just hoping we'd get through the tie, and fortunately we did that. Sometimes you get caught up in the heat of the moment, and I know it was a silly thing to do. I apologised to the boys in the dressing room at half time and I went to see the manager on Thursday and apologised to him."

"I've let the fans and the club down too and I would like to say sorry to everyone. I've been fined for what I did and have been pulled out of the Wales squad as well. Now I've got to sit out another two games which is frustrating, and I know it will be difficult for me to get back into the game because the lads are playing well. Things haven't been going well for me on the pitch, but I'm confident that if I keep my head down and work hard at it will start to click."
