Deano to be offered new contract

Dean Holden, the current Latics captain, is being offered a new contract by Athletic. The 25 year old defender is one of the Latics top earners but his new contract means that he will have to take a massive wage cut if he is to remain at Boundary Park. Holden made 48 appearances last season and was also made team captain. Deano is currently the butt of many of the Latics fans who are asking that his contract not be renewed based on recent performances.
