Decision on Colusso nears

Athletic are hoping to convince Argentinian star Cristian Colusso that his future lies at Boundary Park. He signed a short-term deal in February and has started in five first team games with seven appearances as substitute. He hit the net in spectacular fashion twice at Tranmere and Bury.

Due to financial problems in his home country he wouldn't cost Athletic anything in transfer fees. Mick Wadsworth said of him, “Cristian is a hell of a talent and that's something we want to embrace and encourage. I like him very much and would certainly enjoy having him here again next season. He's had a knee problem for four or five weeks, which has been debilitating and prevented him starting games. I like to think we can do something to keep hold of him – we just need to look at the logistics.”
