New centre-back Zander Diamond was delighted with his matchwinner in the 1-0 pre-season victory at Fleetwood Town. Diamond commented, “The goal was an added bonus because, as a defender, the most important thing is to keep a clean sheet and we have managed a few of them in recent weeks. It was a great delivery from Matty and I couldn't miss.”
“I don't know if Jean-Yves M'voto understands Glaswegian well, but if I tell him to do something he does it. And if we can keep fit, as well as Paul Black and Kieran Lee, we have a solid back four and we must build on those foundations. The preparation has all been geared up to the opening league game against Sheffield United. Pre-season is over and now it is all guns blazing to the first day of the season.”
