Dickov says sorry

Latics manager Paul Dickov has made a public apology to all the fans who travelled to Franchise FC to witness the appalling and unacceptable 5-0 thrashing of his team yesterday.

Dickov said, “I would like to apologise to the fans because collectively, myself included, we were not good enough. I just hope it hurts the players half as much as it hurts me. There might be one or two who possibly won't be here next week. It was a case of the players not taking on board what we tell them and the things we work on from Monday to Friday. They think they can go out on Saturday and do what they want. I have told the players they won't have a career in football playing like that. Sometimes they go out thinking they are better players than they are, and that was the case today. If they don't do their jobs properly against a good team, and I think MK Dons are the best one in the division, they are not going to win the game.”
