Dowie attempts to bring in more players

Iain Dowie is asking for permission to make some signings in an attempt to encourage potential investors. Dowie said, “Our situation will only get worse if we don’t put a good, bright product out on the pitch. If people can’t see the team has potential for a decent season, why would they want to invest in it? I will be asking that question to the powers that be and I believe one or two more bodies could make a big difference to us. We’ll have to see what response I get, but we definitely need players, especially with Will Haining being out for at least three weeks.”

Dowie is hoping to to keep defender Mark Hudson who is currently on loan from Fulham. Michael Clegg (pictured) is likely to keep his place at centre back for the visit of Bristol City.
